Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
Oppositional Defiant Disorder or "ODD" occurs in about 40% of children diagnosed with ADHD. ODD in and of itself is merely a diagnosis of behavior between other children and adults. Often times the symptoms of ODD are caused by the lack of impulse and emotional control caused by the ADHD. There is no medical treatment for ODD, but often, treatment of ADHD through medication and therapy will also treat ODD.
Some of the symptoms of ODD are:
Easily loses temper or is easily annoyed
Angry and resentful
Shows hostility toward authoritative figures
Refuses to comply to requests
Purposely annoys or upsets others
Blames others for their mistakes
