Our commitment
Empower ADHD Solutions exists to support neurodivergent and disabled people, so an accessible website isn't optional to us — it's the point. We are working to make empoweradhdsolutions.com usable for people who navigate the web with screen readers, keyboards, screen magnification, voice control, and other assistive technology, and for people who need reduced motion, larger text, or simpler layouts.
Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This is an ongoing effort rather than a finished project, and we have not yet had the site formally audited by an independent third party.
What we've done
- Built the site with semantic HTML and a logical heading structure, so assistive technology can announce and navigate the content.
- Added a "Skip to Main Content" link and made every menu, dropdown, and button reachable and operable with a keyboard.
- Kept visible focus indicators so keyboard users can see where they are.
- Written descriptive
alttext for images and a title for the embedded assessment form. - Chosen text sizes and colors intended to stay readable, and a layout that reflows without breaking when you zoom in or use a small screen.
- Honored the "reduce motion" setting in your operating system or browser — background drift, shimmer, and hover animations are turned off when you've asked for less motion.
- Labeled every form field and paired it with clear error and success messages.
- Set the page language and given each page a unique, descriptive title.
Known limitations
We're honest about where the site falls short today:
- Embedded third-party content. Some pages include tools we don't build or control — the Google Form on the Executive Function Check page, the Calendly scheduler, the CoachAccountable login widget, and Substack content. Their accessibility depends on those providers. If one of them blocks you, email us and we'll help you complete the task another way (for example, booking a call or taking the assessment by email).
- No formal audit yet. The site is maintained by one person and has been tested manually, not certified. There are likely issues we haven't caught.
- Visual style. The design uses a dark theme with some translucent, blurred surfaces. We've tried to keep contrast sufficient, but if any text is hard to read for you, please tell us.
- Older documents and links. Some linked external resources and older content may not meet the same standard.
